MEMBERSHIP

BESIDES THE MEMBERS OF THE VFW, THE POST ALSO HAS A LADIES AUXILIARY AND CURRENTLY RECRUITING MEN FOR THE MEN'S AUXILIARY

Eligibility for membership into the V.F.W.

Any citizen of the United States may be a member of the veterans of foreign Wars of the United States who is serving or has served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States:

in a foreign war, insurrection, or expedition, which service has been recognized as campaign medal service and is governed by the authorization of the award of a campaign badge by the Government of the United States; or

on the Korean peninsula or in its territorial waters for not less than 30 consecutive days, or a total of 60 days, after June 30, 1949; or

while a member of the armed forces serving in an area which entitled the individual to receive special pay for duty subject to hostile fire or imminent danger.

 

Eligibility in the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W.

Membership is the ladies auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States shall be limited to wives, widows, mothers, stepmothers (who have performed the duties of parent), grandmothers daughters, granddaughters, foster and step daughters (who attained the status prior to age sixteen and for whom the duties of parent were performed), sisters, half sisters, and foster and step-sisters (who attained that status prior to age sixteen) of persons who were are eligible for membership in the Veterans of foreign Wars of the United States. Membership must be not less than sixteen years old.

Women eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States shall be eligible for membership in the ladies Auxiliary.

Eligibility in the Men's Auxiliary of the V.F.W.

Membership in the Men’s Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States shall be limited to husbands, widowers, fathers, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, brothers and half brothers who attained the status prior to age sixteen of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of foreign Wars of the United States. Membership must be not less than sixteen years old.

Men eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States shall not be eligible for membership in the Men’s Auxiliary.
